Non-destructive, and why that matters

Every cut, trim, colour change and caption is stored as a description of what to do, not as a change to the file. The recording you made is the recording that stays on the device.

That means a cut can be switched off again a week later, an export can be redone at a different shape without re-shooting, and a mistake in the edit costs you nothing but the time to undo it.

It also means the app can tell you honestly what an export did — whether it re-encoded or copied the frames, at what size, and whether the frame was cropped to fit a vertical feed.

The editor on a phone

The Export tab: destination buttons for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, a line confirming the take fits the platform’s limit at 1080 by 1920, an explanation of when a plain trim avoids re-encoding, and an Export for TikTok button. — The app tells you before you export whether it will re-encode or copy the frames untouched, and why.
